St Paul the Apostle Catholic Primary School Doreen (Prep to Year 6) is a welcoming, innovative and inclusive school community within Christ the Light parish. We aspire to be a living faith community in the model of Jesus Christ, living out the gospel message of love. We provide a curriculum that is rich, relevant and rigorous with purposeful teaching within stimulating and engaging flexible learning spaces.
We are uncompromising in our determination to embed a Culture of Thinking and we work in close partnership with Dr Ron Richhart (Harvard – Project Zero) as make thinking visible. We believe that learning is a product of thinking and that our thinking routines help children to make meaning and deepen understanding, making connections to contemporary real life situations, so essential as global citizens.
Student voice is valued and through collaboration, our children learn how to think, not what to think incorporating the razor-edge technologies to enhance their learning. With a strong focus on wellbeing and diversity, our passionate staff are key to shaping the rich learning culture that is evident here, staff who view themselves as life long learners and demonstrate a love of learning and of children. It’s contagious.
Our School Advisory Council and SPA Parents and Friends Team enable our families the opportunity to co design different learning experiences for our children building an essential partnership.
